Westies

Despite being a senior citizen (15yrs!) my client this morning could give Michael Flatley a run for his money! But that's westies for you and she did at least stay still long enough for me to take this faceshot:

A lot of groomers dislike giving their customers a clip down or 'all off' preferring to do a pet clip, which is a practical pet version of what is considered breed standard.
Personally I don't see the problem, A clip down is so much more practical for busy owners to maintain and often much more comfortable for the dog. Styling the head and tail ensures you are not sacrificing character or individuality, certainly neither of which are missing where this little tinker is concerned!
Of course if the owner is happy to put in the time and effort of combing out their dog on a regular basis I'm all for that too, whatever works for you!

Back in France and pleased to touch base with some of my clients from last year. This collie is a regular from last winter that I groomed on Wed. She is such a lovely natured dog, she sat like this pretty much for the whole 3hr grooming session, except when licking my face!

Winter

Southend Scalliwags will be taking a sabbatical until further notice, whilst I accompany my husband to France where he works every winter.
I will be keeping my hand in grooming locally here in Les Gets, so will continue to post.
And I look forward to returning to the Southend area in April/May next year when normal service will be resumed.
Meanwhile keep brushing those pooches!
